Our Story

Welcome! Solarium Coffee is a passion project brought to life by co-owners Ben and Halle Farber. Officially launched on June 1, 2025, our mobile coffee cart is the culmination of years of curiosity, dedication, and a shared love of brightening days through a perfect cup of coffee.

The Beginning

Our journey started long before our first official event. For Ben, coffee went from a caffeine dependence to a hobby, fostered by a first job at Starbucks and a passion for seeking new coffee experiences across their hometown of Louisville, KY.

The dream truly solidified after our honeymoon in Costa Rica (May 2024). A visit to the small Don Emilios coffee farm just outside of Uvita, Costa Rica sparked an intense curiosity about sourcing and processing. This led to serious experimentation: upgrading home equipment, diving into the history of coffee, and formal training in espresso and latte art.

Why Solarium? The name "Solarium" evokes the cozy, bright feeling we’ve always chased—that perfect morning moment with a hot cup of coffee and sunlight streaming through the window. Morning sunlight complements coffee perfectly, and as we grow, we are guided by this vision for our future cafe - encompassed in natural light and warmth.

Our Commitment to Quality

What makes Solarium Coffee special is the meticulously crafted experience we bring to every pop-up, corporate event, or wedding.

  • Exceptional Sourcing: We proudly feature single-producer coffees from esteemed local MA roasters like George Howell Coffee, ensuring quality and freshness in every brew.

  • In-House Specialties: To elevate the flavor, we craft all of our custom syrups in-house in our dedicated kitchen space, including customer favorites like "Halle’s Morning" vanilla latte.

  • Hospitality First: We are a small team driven by the belief that every guest deserves excellent customer service and a welcoming experience—whether you’re a lifelong coffee enthusiast or just here for the caffeine.

From Idea to Reality

The Solarium Coffee cart was developed out of a desire to share this elevated experience. We spent months testing plumbing, optimizing our cart design, practicing drinks (like Halle’s go-to oat milk vanilla latte), and designing seasonal menus.

Thanks to generous guidance from the local board of health and a wonderful wholesale partnership with George Howell Coffee Company, we opened for the first time at the Medfield Community Market on June 1, 2025.

We’re just getting started! We are excited to continue this journey, bringing thoughtfully developed coffee and genuine hospitality to your next event.
