Specialty Coffee Catering in Jamaica Plain, MA
Owner-Operated | No Travel Fee for Jamaica Plain Events | 5.0 ★ on Google | Transparent Pricing | Single Estate Coffee
From office gatherings near the Centre Street corridor to weddings at the Loring-Greenough House and resident mixers in the new buildings around the Brewery complex, this is a neighborhood where people actually show up and stay a while. Good coffee turns a scheduled event into something people linger over. Solarium Coffee brings a full mobile espresso bar to JP, with a barista preparing drinks to order for each of your guests.
We set up wherever your event happens, whether that is a converted mill space off Amory Street, a backyard in Sumner Hill, or a community room near Hyde Square. The cart needs only a 6x6 ft footprint and a standard outlet, so it fits into tight JP venues and historic rooms without rearranging the whole space. We are based in Framingham, roughly 25 minutes west, and there is no travel fee for Jamaica Plain events.
Every drink starts with single estate espresso from George Howell Coffee Company in nearby Newtonville, a roaster known for sourcing one farm at a time rather than blending for volume. We pair it with house-made syrups and whole or oat milk, so the menu feels considered without slowing down the line.
Our Most Popular Services in Jamaica Plain, MA
Below are the event types most suited for JP. If you don't see yours, check out all our services.
Corporate Events
Whether your team works out of a renovated space near Brookside, a studio off Green Street, or you are pulling people together for an offsite somewhere along the Centre Street corridor, a coffee cart gives the morning a center of gravity. People gather around it, talk, and stay engaged longer than they would near the break room coffee pot.
One barista handles roughly 50 drinks an hour, which suits most JP team gatherings and client mornings. For larger conferences or all-staff days, two baristas run closer to 100 drinks an hour and keep the line short during a tight break. The full setup lives in a 6x6 ft footprint, so it slots into an office, a lobby, or a shared event room without taking over.
Espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, americanos, and flat whites
Matcha and iced options for warmer months
House-made syrups and a signature drink built for your event
Custom cup or cart branding available for company days
Weddings
A mobile espresso bar fits your wedding as part of the bridal suite getting ready moments, cocktail hour, to be served with dessert, or as a thoughtful touch for a farewell brunch.
We work the timeline with you so the cart is serving exactly when you want it. One barista keeps an intimate guest list well caffeinated at about 50 drinks an hour, and the 6x6 ft footprint tucks neatly into a corner of the venue rather than competing with it.
Private Events & Celebrations
Birthdays, showers, graduations, and milestone parties happen all over JP, in backyards near Sumner Hill, in homes around Monument Square, and in community rooms across the neighborhood. A barista preparing fresh drinks turns a get-together into something guests remember and talk about afterward.
We bring the whole experience to you, from the espresso machine to the cups, water, and cleanup. The cart needs only a standard 15-amp outlet, and for outdoor parties without power we can bring a 12x12 ft tent and generator. One barista serves roughly 50 guests an hour, which fits the scale of most private celebrations comfortably.
Apartments & Condos
JP has seen a wave of new residential buildings, from the developments around the Brewery complex to the apartments rising along the Washington Street and Forest Hills corridor. A resident coffee morning is one of the easiest ways to fill a lobby or amenity space and give neighbors a reason to meet.
We handle the full morning setup, and the 6x6 ft footprint fits a lobby, courtyard, or community room without crowding it. One barista serves about 50 drinks an hour, which covers a steady stream of residents over a two or three hour window. It is a small, genuinely popular perk that residents notice.

How Booking Works
Booking Solarium is simple and quick. Here is how it goes from first inquiry to the morning of your event.
Step 1: Get Your Quote Fill out the booking form with your event date, Jamaica Plain location, estimated guest count, and service window. A price comes back in minutes.
Step 2: Talk Through the Details You speak directly with Ben or Halle. Service & Setup
-
The cart fits in a 6x6 ft footprint, so it works in tight JP venues, office lobbies, historic rooms, and apartment community spaces alike. It runs on a single dedicated 15-amp outlet and we bring a 25 ft extension cord. For outdoor events without power, we can bring a 12x12 ft tent and a generator.
-
One barista serves about 50 drinks per hour, which fits most events under 100 guests. For conferences and larger gatherings, two baristas bring that to roughly 100 drinks per hour. When you share your guest count, we recommend the right staffing.
-
Both. The cart works comfortably in lobbies, offices, and reception rooms, and it is just as suited to a backyard or a courtyard. If your outdoor spot has no power, the tent and generator option keeps everything running.
-
Yes, every booking includes full setup and breakdown. We arrive before your guests, get everything running, serve throughout the event, and pack out completely afterward. We bring our own water supply and handle all waste, so you are not left with anything to manage.
Beverage Options & Customization
-
The core menu covers espressos, americanos, cappuccinos, lattes, flat whites, and matcha, plus iced versions of most of them. We also offer signature drinks like Halle's Morning, a vanilla latte made with our house-made organic syrup, and a Cinnamon Sugar latte. Cold brew, decaf espresso, chai lattes, and specialty drip coffee are available as add-ons.
-
Whole milk and oat milk are standard at every event. Almond milk and other alternatives are available with advance notice, so just let us know what your guests need when we plan the details.
-
Yes. We can develop a custom signature drink for your event, add custom cup branding, or wrap the cart in your brand colors. These are popular for corporate days, brand moments, and weddings looking for a personal touch.
-
We serve single estate espresso from George Howell Coffee Company, roasted in nearby Acton. They source one farm at a time rather than blending for volume, which is why the coffee tastes distinct rather than generic. It is a noticeable upgrade over standard catered coffee.
Booking & Payment
-
The sooner the better, especially for late spring and summer. JP gets busy around festival season, from Wake Up the Earth to the JP Music Festival and Porchfest, and weekend dates fill up first. Reaching out early gives you the best shot at your preferred date.
-
Fill out the booking form with your date, Jamaica Plain location, guest count, and service window, and a price comes back in minutes. From there you talk directly with Ben or Halle to lock in the details.
-
Your date is held once a booking agreement is signed and a deposit is received. Until then dates are first come, first served, so we recommend reserving as soon as you know your plans.
General
-
Yes, Solarium Coffee is fully insured. We are happy to provide a certificate of insurance for venues that require one, including schools like Martha Jones and offices around University Station.
-
We cater corporate events, weddings, private parties and celebrations, and resident coffee mornings for apartments and condos, plus pop-ups and brand activations. If it happens in JP and could use great coffee, we can likely make it work, so just reach out.
-
Three things. First, Ben and Halle are personally involved in every event we book, and most of the time we're the baristas behind the cart. When we bring in additional help, that person has been trained directly by us. You're not hiring a company that dispatches a stranger on your event day. Second, the coffee is genuinely specialty grade. We serve single-origin espresso from roasters like George Howell Coffee Company, not commodity beans from a food service distributor. Third, every syrup is made from scratch. The result is a noticeably better cup of coffee served by people who actually care about your event going well.
